About the Owner
Farragut Cleaners has been here since 1946, but somehow it feels like it has always been the family business! I originally worked at K-Mart for around 8 years before getting into the dry cleaning industry, but my Dad worked for Wayne Murphy, the previous owner of Farragut Cleaners so it was always a familiar place for my family! Eventually, in 1990 my dad was given the opportunity to purchase the business and a few months later I came to work for him.
It came at the ideal time for me as I was ready for a change and wanted the opportunity to build up my skills. I hoped that by getting more involved in the management of Farragut Cleaners I would prepare myself for one day owning my own business! However, in 2004 my sister and I decided to take over the business as co-owners and I have never looked back.
Owning Farragut Cleaners has been a lot of hard work, but it is worth it and I can’t imagine doing anything else! We’ve grown so much from that little cleaners in 1946 that shared a building with Russels country store. We now occupy that whole building and have 3 other locations across the Knoxville area. We have a great team of staff who help us in offering a professional, dependable service to our customers.
